The project aims to create a link between agricultural practice, innovation, and scientific dissemination. Thanks to organized field events, farmers will be able to keep up to date with the latest agronomic techniques and sustainable solutions, while technicians and consultants will have the opportunity to delve deeper into advanced management strategies and evaluate the adaptability of cereal varieties to different environmental contexts, thereby improving the quality of their consultancy services. The project also targets students from agricultural technical institutes and universities to offer them practical training, middle and high school students to bring them closer to agricultural realities, and the general public through a Citizen Science approach. This includes awareness-raising activities on the importance of agriculture for environmental sustainability and food security, involving students across various target groups.
Specifically, CAMPO DEMO involves setting up demonstration fields to compare cereal varieties and different technical inputs, such as herbicides, fungicides, and biostimulants, to directly evaluate their effectiveness. Buffer strips with plants beneficial to pollinators are also planned to demonstrate the viable coexistence between biodiversity and modern agriculture.
