AGRICOLA 2000 carried out, in 1993, the first assigned emission of transgenic plants in Italy on behalf of an important industry of the agro-chemical sector.
In the past years transgenic crops have been presented in many countries. While we await a decision on the possibility of growing such crops in Italy, it seems correct that research centers should evaluate any technical-applicative problem that may be connected to this technology.
Agricola 2000 carried out, in 1993, the first trial in Italy with transgenic plants and prepared the first monograph on biotechnologies in plant protection products and in the seed sector.
